Don't have a lot of time to write about this. But, craaaaazy Bobby Fischer died today. Now, a lot of people have heard me talk of my love for people wrapped in the fight between genius and madness. Mac sheds the weight in 2008 (I'm so clever.)

well, if your new years resolution was to shave off some bulk and lose a few pounds, mac has announced a product that might catch your eye.. and everyone else's for that matter. This three pounder has a "13.3-inch light-emitting diode (LED) display, iSight Webcam, full-size keyboard, and 80-Gbyte hard-disk drive. (informationweek.com)" Oh and at its' thickest its .76 inches. Basically this thing makes my mac book pro look like a TRS 80 or something. Conclusion: I want it.

In other apple news, it looks like Universal is getting fed up with Mac's constant itunes cash flow. Will they or wont they pull their business? I'l be interested to see if Mac is willing to compromise.

baby crazy.

Congrats to Christina Aguilera and her husband, Jordan Bratman, for the birth of their first son, Max. Clearly there aren't any pictures up yet of the babe or new mom, but I'm sure that baby is gorgeous. Here's to hoping that mommyhood doesn't drive Xtina crazy like it did her pop star counterpart, Britney Spears. Speaking of Britney, apparently she has to go court again to try one last time to get her visitation rights back after that meltdown she had last week. Ironic.

I usually don't like to comment about pop culture and that drama, but I was trying to get my mind off the crazy antics going on for the race to the White House. Obama did drugs (old news) and he wants the black vote (old news), and he's stepping on some Clinton toes to get it. It's backfired on him and he's losing support and funding. I have to admit I don't like when candidates push on the others to get more votes (mostly because it never seems to work), but I still support him. I really don't think that Hillary is a strong enough candidate to be the first woman president. She will constantly live in the shadow of her husband in the sense that if she makes a good decision, it will get credited to Bill and all her bad decisions will get marked against her gender.

Well, its a snow day so I am going to try and accomplish all the things I didn't do during the weekend This mostly includes cleaning my room, filling out candidate application forms, doing homework, and trying to figure out my music equipment more so that I can record the song I wrote recently. Obviously that song will break here FIRST when its done.

your own personal moon.

I want one of these so bad. Russian designers came up with this light box shaped like a huge (or I suppose, tiny) moon. Although it looks entirely too bright to actually sleep with, there is something so lonesome and romantic about it, which as most people know, I dig. Its practically performance art! I still have not found a manufacturer, or really where anywhere to buy it, so I have started to come up with plans to make my own. How hard could it be? I should look in the pages of ReadyMade Magazine for hints and tips. To start, I would have to build a shell out of pliable balsam sticks ( I want this moon to appear natural). Then, take paper lantern material and cut it to shape, laying it over and securing the paper to the frame. The main difficulty for me would be figuring out how to illuminate it, although what first comes to mind is taking groups of LED lights from IKEA that run off battery and putting those within the frame. If this is the method used though, I would need to build some type of trap door in the moon so that I may change the batteries. I'd shy away from using lights that plug in, simply because I enjoy the idea of the moon being completely transferable while lit. This would make for many good photo opportunities.

Also: I have decided that to never become old, you must already be teaching your old self new tricks. I will write more on this later, but so far this weekend, I have begun to learn how to drive stick, and also learned how to wire speakers for a high end stereo system.

went and saw the Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen last night with Tom. Can't say I was much of a fan before the concert... but wow. The man puts on a great live show. Above is my new favorite song, the title track off his new album "Magic." Its such a brutal duet. especially the end. Theres a more professional video, but not the whole song, here.

The weekend was almost too much fun and yes i did get to go skating.
